CrN COATING:
Chromium Nitride is an extremely hard, inert, thin film coating that is applied primarily to precision metal parts. Chrome Nitride (CrN) offers greater temperature resistance than TiN and is an ideal choice in high temperature environments. CrN also performs well in corrosive environments and in sliding wear applications.

Application:
CrN is also more corrosion resistant than TiN, especially in aqueous solutions and is used as a direct substitute for chromium plating. The hardness of the CrN coating is approximately 2x that of conventional “hard” chrome plating.The CrN coating is particularly suitable for use machining copper based materials.
